Funding Opportunities For Youth

Fleet All-Stars Contest
Fleet Bank sponsors a contest that is designed to inspire and reward kids for their work in community service. More than $400,000 in charitable donations will be awarded to 80 winning organizations. First-place winners will also receive a visit from a Fleet All-Stars celebrity athlete. The list of athletes include: Drew Bledsoe (Patriots), Nomar Garciaparra (Red Sox), Pedro Martinez (Red Sox), and Rebecca Lobo (N.Y. Liberty). The Fleet All-Stars challenge is open to any youth group, school, or community organization comprised of kids between the ages of 5 and 18, as well as their directors, leaders, teachers and parents. Fleet will reimburse expenses (up to $100) for every group who submits an entry. Groups can choose any type of community service project including, but not limited to, park restoration, volunteering at a soup kitchen, painting a wall mural, and/or holding a clothing drive.

Pay It Forward Foundation-Educator Partner Program

Inspired by the book and the popular film, the Pay It Forward Foundation was recently created. The foundation has been established to educate and inspire students to realize that they can change the world. The Educator Partner Program invites educators and students in kindergarten through 12th grade to apply for mini-grants (up to $500) designed to fund service-oriented projects identified by children which will serve to benefit their school, neighborhood or greater community. Applicants should avoid asking for funds that could be funded through other sources or that require a continuing commitment of funds beyond the original proposal. Applicants are considered for one-time-only projects. Each month of the school year (September-June), grant applications are reviewed and considered by a selection committee comprised of community leaders and prominent educators.

For more information and the grant application, please visit the foundation's website at www.payitforwardfoundation.org.
