This national program recognizes and provides grants for outstanding teaching in public secondary schools serving economically disadvantaged students. They offer up to 400 grants worth $2,500. Teachers and paraprofessionals who work with students in grades 6-12 in a public secondary school are eligible. At least 40% of the school's student population must be eligible for the free or reduced school lunch program. There are no deadlines. Grants are awarded to applicants who develop an outstanding lesson plan or series of lessons focusing on any academic subject and demonstrating high expectations for underserved students.

This foundation awards grants for programs and activities that improve classroom teaching and the learning of science, mathematics and technology for middle and high school students. Public and private schools, local educational agencies, and youth organizations around the U.S. may apply. Projects should provide direct benefits to students and should include teacher-led, classroom-based experiences. The small grants program awards grants of up to $5,000 monthly throughout the year (no deadline; rolling basis) and the large grants program awards grants over $5,000 in March and September (February 1 and August 1 deadlines).
