Stand Up: Working Together to Stop Bullying is the newest video produced by the Middlesex District Attorney's Office, in collaboration with Middlesex Partnerships for Youth, Inc.
Released in September 2005, Stand Up is a 19-minute video and accompanying guide that provides your community with the resources to help start a discussion about bullying. In addition to information about bullies, targets and bystanders, this video and guide provide tips on putting together community gatherings, soliciting support for local expert panelists, and getting the word out about the program.
The video and accompanying materials were designed to be used in schools, at PTO/PTA events, or by youth-serving organizations. This material could also be used by youth leaders who are often the most effective change agents in schools.

All Jammed Up: a Prescription for Disaster
While new prescription medications provide comfort and relief for many, the misuse and diversion of prescription medications, especially narcotics like Oxycontin® can have a devastating effect on young and old. All Jammed Up - A Prescription for Disaster is a 17 minute video featuring young people who have survived the ravages of abuse and noted clinicians who speak directly and honestly about the challenges of addiction and the important work that our communities must undertake to prevent the misuse of these medications that must go on in our communities.
Produced by the Office of the Middlesex District Attorney, All Jammed Up is the latest in a line of videos designed to reach the broadest constituency with important information about youth health and safety. This video was developed in response to the tremendous loss faced by families throughout Middlesex as a result of substance abuse. It was designed for an adult audience but has been used with great success with high school audiences as well.
Cost:
$5.00 for Middlesex County school districts and agencies
$25 for schools and agencies outside of Middlesex County

Just Play:
Kids, Parents and Sportsmanship
Youth sports programs play an important role in our communities by giving young people exercise, by providing them with an opportunity to understand critical concepts like team-work and sportsmanship, and by offering supervised time during critical after-school hours. Sometimes, however, adult goals interfere in kids games taking the fun out of youth sports. Occasionally, a parent, a coach or another adult reacts with strong language, threats or even physical violence.
To help remind adults of what youth sports is really about and to foster a dialogue about community support for the important values of sportsmanship, this 20-minute video features professional athletes and other experts talking about youth sports from their perspectives as youth coaches, former or current professionals, parents, educators and role models for young and old alike. Just Play was produced by the Office of the Middlesex District Attorney with assistance from the Boston Celtics, New England Patriots, Boston Breakers, Boston Bruins, Northeastern University Center for the Study of Sport in Society, and Massachusetts General Hospital Sport Psychology Program.
