The 10th Annual School Safety Summit was held on September 27, 2005 in Tyngsboro, MA. Sponsored by Middlesex District Attorney Martha Coakley, in partnership with Middlesex Partnerships for Youth, Inc, this event drew over 250 attendees and featured dynamic presentations and informative workshops on the theme: Creating and Sustaining a Safe and Respectful School Climate.
Plenary and breakout sessions addressed a variety of topics relating to school safety, reducing youth access to alcohol, tobacco and other drugs and the legal landmines facing police and administrators. Latest developments in Juvenile Diversion, START (a multidisciplinary approach to truancy prevention) and the Citizenship in Action Institute were also presented.
